I've been agitated a while about social networks - not because I'm s loser and have not friends on Facebook but that very idea, the social dilemma that if untreated can cause hot sweats, panic attacks and even inflammation.

To side step this, I quickly thought it pertinent to discuss the role and influence that new technology adoption has. Firstly we tend to try everything that is pushed on us, Secondly I feel we tend now to be so fascinated with new services and advancements in technology(which I'm all for) that we create "social static" or s buzz about it in so much that we learn about it, try it and tell everyone that they should do it to. Word of mouth basically: We speculate about technology, as one might do something else.
My sticking point is how much we talk about technology, how much, more to the point, we force ourselves to be involved with it on a day to day basis. I think now more than ever, we're getting involved and influenced by technology than maybe 5-10 years ago. Sure this makes sense but that's my point, it's now that we're experiencing a new level of human-technology relation. Why? because we are now seeing technology as actually practical and useful in our daily lives, more than this - technology is proving reliable and thus viable. We're beginning to trust technology. We're stripping away any stigma that once may have deterred us from using technology. Large corporations are embracing new, quirky newly discovered ideas instead of cautiously maintaining a distance. An example of all this is the IPhone, embracing the 'apps' and building tailored applications for your personal devices which enterprises weren't doing a while back - they didn't even care about the man on the street's access to their services - now they do and can. High street banks now have a banking 'app'. This has touched on a further two topics - mobile consumption of data and services and the interest in the man on the street as well as the adoption of fairly immature technology by everyone - immature but practical and reliable.

Right so the point I'm making is that everyone is adopting new technology and I think that they are too busy adopting it to see the implications.

One of these early adoptions is social networking. Basically we've allowed this technology to invade our homes, phones and lifestyles - it influences the way we act, share and communicate like never before, the implications are there - decisions we'd need not worry about are now prevalent, taking space in out subconscious - stressing us out.

Were we made to handle this kind of mass information or will we adapt as we are a product of ourselves? Inevitably we will adapt but not before we have to deal with it.

So the basics of what I'm trying to convey is this: there is a greater risk out there due to the greater adoption of new technologies and we need just to be aware of it for now and it would be a mistake to ignore it completely.

It's been a crazy last couple of days with this week being the busiest in months. I've been to bed after 1am for the last two days.

It's all got todo with work buy ironically I've learned the most about various enigmatic subsystems of the product we're writing which is good because stress combined with knowing, understanding and enjoyment is OK.

Yesterday was beautiful day and so will be today. Some people have said it a mini-heatwave and other speculation but whatever it is, it's great. Probably haven't experience a better summer in England until this year, 2011.

Was going to head our for a run Yeaterday but figured that I'd not rested enough to warrant stress out my body more than it was already.

Some pretty sucky news is that a work collegue is leaving which is particularly bad because he took a lot of responsibility in defusing situations, completing sentenced and generally setting a fun atmosphere - which took the load of me to deliver this. Anyway.

Watched sone TV last night, just chilled out on my sofa-bed in an attempt to rest - which was good, whipped up a super dinner which consisted of a portion of Mango(vitamin C), Tuna fish in lettuce with a few cherry tomatoes fumbling about in the bowl. Had that with a Greek salad dressing and that tasted real good. Point is, I wanted to stock myself up with a bit of meat/fish and generally do a good meal instead of running(down to the gym) which I wanted to do but thought better if it.

Today's going to be another scorcher and I pretty much was sweaty and muggy in my jeans so today I've decided to head into work with Shorts, which is something I don't usually do but I figured, whats the point of feeling uncomfortable, if anything that makes working less enjoyable and I'm all about practicality. If it's hot, don't wear a ski jacket - that sorta thing. That said, days of having to wear a blazer in the classroom until given permission(which we usually got) to take them off, comes to mind. Initially Impractical but ordered, I suppose.

Watched a bit of the Isle of wight festival, two episodes of a recorded series of Mount Pleasant and The Simpsons. I was resting :-)

Today was pretty cool, took an awesome walk to get lunch - it's was superbly sunny and warm. Trained someone in CSG(customer solutions group) on AppTitude which I find really enjoy which was good because my brain was on a sabbatical today and I couldn't find solutions to anything - was programmers block. Essentially the issues are not specifically language or hardcore programming issues more logical and theoretical ones: figuring out how to do something within the constraints of the existing framework or procedures, adhering to "how things are usually done" when specifically you're not absolutely certain how things are usually done. This has prompted me to do things the best way I can figure. Frustrating thing is I suppose is firstly, not getting it right and secondly wasting time trying.

I had a good sushi session for lunch and had wasabi pulsating through my nostrils at times which was not fun but I love experiencing it wierdly enough. I had a super-food shaker and generally took the healthy approach, not only that but i was concious not to have sugar(artificial or natural) in my coffee but that went all "tits-up" when a collegue bought in sweets and made them invitingly available.

Usually I eat what I want when I want, sometimes I even forget to eat altogether but the more I train the more the ideas that if you put good stuff in you get good stuff out. Same goes for sleeping and resting. So I'm a bit picky right now on food and so a limited degree sleeping. Training is not a problem or chore - I love running and working out.

I woke up this morning in a weird mood. It might have been because for the millionth time, that confounded 2nd alarm that goes off in the morning on my running watch. I've been wanting to turn it off permanently but it escapes my how simply it eludes me.

I heard a great expression the other day while watching House, referencing free time: "All I want to do is sit in front of the TV in my underwear eating my dinner". Is that too much to ask? I think not.

Walked past the local pub, on my towards South Wimbledon station and saw reference to two expressions I used because they make me smile generally: "Holy Moley!" which has a certain innocence about it and "Flipping 'eck!" which I've ever only enjoyed hearing said by a Northerner or a manchurian. I think I will say both at least twice today.

My next study module has filtered it's way through to me and I should be scheduled to get cracking next week when it officially begins. Kinda enjoying Java...but then again I always have: I remember me sitting in the back of the car traveling down to my uncles place in the south of Africa and reading the Sun java tutorial all the way there. it must have been a 5 hour journey. I enjoyed it then and I'm enjoying it now.

Rain flummoxed the experts yesterday and even I was caught in the rain heading home, even my barometer was left nursing a battered ego.

The sketch of Mr bean reaching for his imaginary gun has just creeped into my as I imitate that movement to scratch an itch on my side, under my jacket/coat...I'm somewhat amused by that picture.

I've been recently, rather strangely, reading a work colleague's book during lunch about various fascinating scientific possibilities yet not possible. Read about the concepts of building force fields etc... really out of this world but not completely impossible. But I'm rather bored with the concept now and it only seems to be certain days that I feel the need to leave the present and emerge myself into an hour of reading: I have to be in a certain mood. Not in the mood today.

The image is me eating candy floss, first time in years. Re-experiencing the sensation was great.
