Watched a pretty strange disturbing movie this weekend. It was called "The skin I live in". I suppose because it was disturbing it was engaging. Besides that, I registered for my next study module which will see another dimension to the Java work I've done recently. Sorta keeps me satisfied that I'm studying something so much so that when I'm not(say when I'm waiting for the results of the last one) I'm not quite comfortable. Weird but there you go.

Watched athletics - reams and reams of it. I had it recorded on Sky+ and the highlight was seeing Usain Bolt in the 800m final, which he won. I went looking for a computer book on Saturday, only to find that the local computer shop had closed and had merged into another local shop but which unfortunately cut down on their literature section substantially. On my way back I popped into a supermarket and went to town on buying cleaning products for the kitchen and bath. Both of which now are a sight to behold. I dare not tread into the kitchen of fear of dirtying it. Good I suppose - I brought out the vacuum cleaner and did a few rounds on the carpet and now it looks great.

I also came across a local discount store which was a fine discovery - I bought 2 canvas copies, one depicting a busy central London and the other a couple dancing in the rain, on the beach, with their butlers holding two umbrellas above them. The latter was by a modern Scottish painter, Jack Vettriano and I liked it for it's sheer attitude. The London scene is busy black/white/colour intersection at Regent street, London, if I recall correctly. Figured I put them up in the two spaces that are empty - one above the TV(London one) and the other above my work desk. Unfortunately they're 'floored' paintings right now because I'm at a loose end as to where I put my "fasten-anything-to-a-wall" stuff do might have to get some. Nice thing I suppose about having your own time is being able to not stress about the fact that they are not yet up but will be soon - a sentiment I imagine wouldn't be shared if I was in a relationship. Boon!

I enjoyed as usual, a couple runs and gym sessions just to keep my heart, blood pressure and general well being in check. Rediscovered how great my running watch is - a nice, satisfying feeling when considering I bought it almost a year ago, still delivers the goods wonderfully.

I also bought, along with those canvases, an attachable light which I've placed above my computer monitor because I found that later at night, the weird glare/lack of light from the monitor doesn't shine an adequate amount of light onto the keyboard below and the background light in the room is a bit wishy-washy. So now it's like Im in a surgical room or alternatively on a dentist's chair with so much light, my keyboard is shouting, "There! Are you happy now!!" And yes, I think I am :-)

Got a new cardio playlist which was pretty cool - love running to new music. Sharemyplaylist.com is a great crowd-sourcing resource for sharing music.

Also, I cut my finger, flinging a mug in the basin while washing up. I learn and move on. My partially wounded finger reminds me not to fling mugs while washing.
