I've just placed an order for a new watch. And what really appeals to me is not the tide charts or moon phases it generates and not specifically the altimeter or barometer but out all the killer features, and there are lots - the thing that really delights me is like my current kinetic watch, it never requires a battery change because it's solar powered. Of all the things that technology has been able to do, they've not yet, until now, brought the power of the sun to the wrist watch. I think it's truly amazing that you can have a watch with temperature meters, compasses, alarms, stop watches, altimeters, barometers and not require at any point in your life to worry about it running out of battery.
I mean it's truly amazing, now one never will depend on batteries running out or being left stranded without vital information like compass bearings, tide charts and weather readings because all these are now power by the most abundant energy source. I'm so looking forward to knowing that this pier o equipment will rely on nothing but the sun, enough for me to rely on nothing but it!
It's actually quite strange how knowing that your watch is unlimited: I have a kinetic watch and I often remark that it'll die when I die, referring to my life as a life of movement and this a cool thing.
The new Casio PAW1500t-7v has the most features of any watch I've seen, it's progressed through an evolution from the -v1 so they've had time to rethink, fix and optimise things they found needed improvement on in -v1. Not only is it suba-diving possible(200 meters water resist), it's made out of titanium and receives atomic timing from beacons around the world. All this with unlimited battery life! This is the watch you want to be with when your in the water, outdoors and traveling. It's a watch for a man without compromises.
With all that said...I've not got one yet, in fact it should arise within the next few days so what this has been is pre-ownership bliss so take it with a pinch if salt - I've not used it at all!
I think the next few days at work will be toughest, knowing that at any moment your delivery will appear. In reality I know that this is not true, with it really being only available within the next 3-5 days but still you somehow wish it that it be today. Focusing on work will be easier if I focus on my task list, so I'll do that :-)
