Ok so its Friday and how come i do my best work on Fridays - just as the day ends!?

Anyway, started writing a new application which allows you to post your screenshot as an image to twitter. I find that sometimes I get tired or run out of words to explain what I'm doing. And to be honest I'm always sitting down in front of the computer programming and to sometimes I just want to 'show' you something instead of explaining what I see on say a random website like thechive.com.

So in prototype stages and I'll make it free because I use other people's free stuff in it. At the moment it posts my current screenshot off to twitpic and then appends the twitpic URL to my twitter post(which you can write) as other twitter clients do. Pretty much does the trick for me at the moment and seeing as I've got simple needs - I don't know how motivated I will be to make it really really really good and do a million things. Until it irritates me, and begins to need work done to it - I'll just leave it - the lazy factor is strong with me.

That said, I'm looking to be able to annotate the screenshot by writing on it and drawing on it. That's not quite happening now but I guy can dream, right? It's a bit clunky right now but I'm looking to make it as easy to use on a daily basis as possible.

I love being a programmer.

You can see the code here:

I know, that's a tad bit optimistic app title but I was pushed(by myself, doh!)

So I know how my weekend is looking....

Elevator feet - very random

Elevator feet - very random

Crazy stupid bed time last night. 2am. Don't know...but in real tired now, as you expect. I think I need a power drink. Like coffee. Apparently coffee cuts the risk of men having cancer - heard that on BBC news last night(actually this morning ....argh). Seems incredibly silly and you probably find it does in some tiny way so I'm not doing to commit coffee mayhem anytime soon. I'd love to know how much a healthy lifestyle contributes to preventing cancer for that matter.

Watched a pretty interesting film last night called 'The town will talk'. it must have been pretty old - it was still in Black and White(I don't know why I capitalised those last two words) but quite charming. My goal today is to, at some point, figure out who the young actress was because wow, even in black and White, she stood out. That and another film before it.
That's what actually kept me awake - I was drawn in like a helpless moth to a light.I just. Couldn't...resist. And here I am paying for it.

Random pick of my desk?

Random pick of my desk?

What tends to bother me quite a lot recently is how much noise is generated from the tube whilst in transit. I often wonder how much it may affect ones hearing. It's almost deafening at times. I'd love to know.

Absolutely starved - had no lunch yesterday but had generally quite a productive day coding. Left work bit late but satisfied. Been working recently with XSLT which is basically a way of reading and converting XML data to other formats. At the moment I've basically finished(but when are you ever finished right?) combining two XML files together to form a new 3rd file which contains various lookups between the two files into s single WordML document. WordML being an XML file that is formatted so that word can read it and display any fancy markup you've coded into the file(like bold, italics, headings etc...). Pretty much learned XSLT for the first time when I joined App-DNA and Ive since been able to really get my teeth stuck I to it for them but also enjoy learning a new technology. So that's been really great.
