Well, today is the day we move into our new 12 storey sky scraper in the City. Second time I've been with a company that's moved into a new location and this time is as exciting. We packed our development machines on Friday, bubble wrap and all, into large red boxes which were ferried to our new premises this weekend.
Our new premises is temporary and we'll be there for 6 months while we negotiate a lease for our own space. "North America" have already moved into their own building in Shumburg so we've got to catch up!
Anyway, what's cool is that we're on the 12th floor and it's all glass(and steel) and there will be a spectacular view over London, including St. Pauls Cathedral and the iconic "Gherkin"!
Exciting times indeed, pictures to follow!

Strange thing about me, apart from the usual, is how much I prefer to deal with "nothing to do". Prime example would be on the tube to work in the morning. I'm sure there are much more productive things to do but for me, just watching the world in front of me is pretty interesting. Seeing all the different people, trying to figure out who they are or what kind of person they are just by noticing how they act, what they ignore, what they don't etc. sometimes I try to figure it out, other times, it just sweeps into my mind as I pass my eyes around tube.
Instead if reading a book, I'm reading the world around me and learning it is better than a short story in a book it seems.
Sometimes the passengers get frustrated with delays on the line or because of the lack of space and they reveal their personalities in different ways. The ways people portray themselves, their outward appearance, body behaviour, stance and focus is a fascinating observation.
I often wonder why I don't feel the need to pass the time by reading, and the more I think about it, the more I realise that it's because of this that keeps my attention and interest.
It may seem rather boring and useless but it uses my time, rather instinctively and as such, I'd not be doing anything else.

Went to my cousin's fiancé's birthday dinner this evening, in fact I've just hit the road now. Strange thing about it was that after literally 3-4 sips of sparkling wine, already I'm slightly light headed. I left after dinner, kinda wanted to head on home, new shoes were killing me which were aggravated by the move downstairs to the drinks area which had limited seating.
Another interesting thing was getting a "Wow, such a long time since we've seen each other" and me not knowing who the other person was - is it my lack attention to detail or is that a move I need to learn :-)
I'm tired now as slowly and sleepily I tap this into my phone, while the rest are partying away the night and I realise - I am such a light weight.
