So it seems the builders have bumped into our satellite dish and now we are getting no signal. what's worse I suppose is that I last my last recording of House, also that yesterday I missed it again which sucks enormously. Engineer will come out Thursday, that's like a whole 4 days away. oh well. thanks to you tube, can probably catch up. technology is grand isn't it?Bad news is that on the day the engineer was to arrive - he had an accident. yeah. hope the dude was ok but need to reschedule now.

So here's something pretty cool, I witnessed for the first time the speed in which you gain by having an SSD drive installed in your computer. And all I can say is wow, didn't realise how slow normal hard drives were. The hard drive was installed into an ageing Mac Mini and afterwards startup time was noticeably faster, also applications loaded faster and the whole general experience is better and more streamlined. It has me seriously thinking about how speedy computers will become and how upgrading can help older PCs. - Details

Thinking of buying a kindle to condense my book collection into a single electronic device. It does mean that I'll have another device other than my iPhone though and I wonder if the practicality of it's size, ability to be read in sunlight outweigh the usefulness of having it on my iPhone - certainly due to it's size and glare ability. The next question is do my books appear on kindle? Can I somehow pay less/nothing if I already own the ISBN physical hard copy(a push I think) and what do I do with them once I've replaced them with virtual copies? The other one is, how do I back up my books - they are electronic now... More Articles …
