I caught myself in the lift mirror dancing to Micheal Jackon’s Billy Jean – I say dancing but it can’t really be called that – its more like wobbling. Yes, that it, I was wobbling to the rhythm. Maybe because its Friday, maybe its because I don't know.

It really great to do that from time to time and its even better when its in a lift because no one can see you. I mean, “you” can see “you”, and once you’re over the initial fright of that, the shock is over and the wobbeling can commence without interruption(unless you hear a beep, in which case its the lift stopping and its time to do the same!).

You wouldn’t find me dancing or wobbling for that matter in front of an audience – god no. Personal “lift-time” is the best time to shake one’s tail feather, especially when one of your best songs shows up in the playlist and starts..

I used to collect number plates

I used to collect number plates – Its a thing I used to do as a child. I was running into the office this morning when I saw one on the road and I was compelled with the childhood urge and joy to stop and collect it. Usually back then, we’d stop and reverse the car, I’d jump out and go grab it off the side of the dirt road. Don’t know why I did it but I liked it. I amassed a fairly large collection of them in my childhood, not too large but as large as perhaps a number plate every 2 months or so, for maybe a year or two. Sometimes I’d get more than just 1 a month, and sometimes I have a “bumper” week.

I forgot about how I felt about number plates until I jumped over one this morning. Funny

Had a powernap this morning just before going to the office – 15mins of pure relaxation. It the first time that I’ve really ever got anything from a nap. I must be getting old? My runs were good, although yesterday I found out that one of my course records was broken by 4 seconds. I’ll get it back. But I’m in no rush. But it will happen eventually.

I’ve finished my work for the next release in record time and now I’m trying to get it moved to a new stream/branch which is causing all sorts of chaos because its changed some core components. So I’m doing fixing now, I’d rather be coding however but fixing has its day. Moving forward though, we’ve got our roadmap planned out for the next 12 months so I know exactly what I’ll be doing – its going to be a lot of work but thats OK, work never scared me. I’ll probably need to get stuff moved from our WPF solution into a web based anjular.js product. That’s OK in fact that’s more than OK. We’re very much focused on the cloud right now, so moving functionality in the cloud is the top priority. I don’t know If I share everyone’s enthusiasm for it though but I don't really mind it either – at the end of the day, I’ll be doing it one way or the other!
