I’ve missed the bus twice in the last two days and this has given me the incentive to run into work. Its not a long run, or on par with my usual runs - but its longer than no running at all and its given me some idea of how my ‘recovery’ is going – I’ve not run for about 19 days now(I mean my usual routine). I basically took my laptop out of my rucksack and my cell phone and then just run with them both at my side.
I guess it must look pretty ridiculous but I never cared about doing this. So that’s nice.
I think the next month I’ll be back to my running or maybe I’ll adjust my routine somewhat so I can incorporate more running into it. Because while I look forward to going back to my routine, I’ve started to enjoy my ‘newer’ temporary routine which basically gets me up earlier in the day, at 4:30, gym until 7:30 to compensate for the lack of my old routine. So that's quite long and hectic, so don't think I could do both but I really enjoy it. So If I changed that, I’d kinda be disappointed but as usual, I’ll perhaps find a good middle ground. Perhaps just run in work on Wednesdays.
What’s great, is that I can see that my calf is not hurting but I’m a bit scared that that's just me being naïve ‘cos I want to go running again - I really don't want to hurt myself again. Its a double-edged sword, so to speak.
Anyway, here is one of the victorious ‘mini’ runs:
