Well its another week after a weekend. I always feel like my weekends are lazy. I eat too much and I sleep too much. But that said, I do rest and I am very tired at the end of my week. 82km weeks are tiring. Had a good workout on Saturday but after my breakfast which was a ‘superfood’ salad, I got real tired, real quick.

My Friday run was not easy. I was tired and I had a weak calf which wasn’t helping me as it would loose strength on landing – almost like it turned to jelly then re-solidified for a a few minutes before going jelly again. Weird.  I made it though. Like 45 mins in total, so not fast by my average so wont complain.  I bought some heat spray at Boots – was actually looking for Voltaren energel but didnt find it. Sprayed it on the calf and went to bed and I didn’t feel it this morning.

I think its got something to do with shoes but might not be. See I’ve been running with the Nike Air Zoom Pegasus 33 which are not like my Nike free motions (which are much less arch support) and I think that with this, my feet and legs get lazy and my calf gets a lot if strain whereas with the nike free motions which are more barefoot-like, I use my calves instead of just land on them – which is what I think i’m doing with the Pegasus’. Also it didn’t help that it was dark and I could not judge the path’s cracks and crevices so I did land many times in a compromising position – that certainly didn’t help! Can’t wait for my USB powered head lamp to arrive! That will make it safer and easier?(probably not)

I also replaced my running top which is a pull-over with a zipped-front version so I can easily take it off when I’m done – instead of playing the I’m-in-a-straight-jacket game that I tend to play with my pullover. Its also warmer which is great meaning I’ll be good for the colder weather coming up and I’ve found this morning that – I’ve had less layers because of it – space economy!

After my Saturday workout, I feel so tired. I don’t feel like doing anything – except doing nothing – I feel like doing that. I had to force myself to leave the house on Sunday – I took back my library books and got said zipped top.

I got a book last weekend about multi-sport training which I tried to read this weekend but it didn’t go too well. I got to part about flexibility and that was about it. I did however get to ‘animation’ in my game development book after having a lot of stuff ‘go over’ my head with regards to indoor and outdoor rendering. That's pretty hard-core stuff – no wonder they reuse game engines.

Read up on HTML 5 and briefly pushed ahead to see how one secures a web application under glass fish – pretty similar to how its done in Spring Mvc. Then I tried to get ahead with the next weeks’ reading on security but I couldn’t do it – my eyes, brain and mind said – no! Sleep now! So I figured as I’d read the weeks work, that's OK and it was fine.

Another good Monday morning – wore my new zipped top which was a bit warm so i had to unzip it at times! But it was nice to ‘whip’ it off when I arrived at the gym. Gym felt good and I enjoyed wearing my Free motions – they were comfortable. I figure I’ve got to alternate between the two types of shoes.

I also bought a sports drink – watermelon – its an amino drink, so its basically sugar free and carb free and tastes like a soft drink. That’s why I bought it. Forgot to take it the next day before the gym. Did taste it on the day and well it didn’t blow me a way – watermelon had a weird taste for me that time. I’ll want to mix it with my creatine and beta-alanine next time. I bough something like this before when I was working in central London. Might buy some more of that kind – it was nice! “Blu-Raz” was the flavour. I go with the caffeine free options always.

Had a bit of a think how I should spend my year-end holiday – got a few options but they all seem so tiring!

I wish every day’s exercise was like a Mondays. I’ve got to figure out how I can rest every day like a weekend.
