Today was weird. Today started off pretty much like yesterday with today being the 2nd time I'd been up at 6am fumbling about then going to work.

When I got to work I decides to go buy a book. I did just that and took it back with me to the office where I read it for the most part of a half hour, there after heading to my desk to get settled in for work(I'd arrived to early and had to sit in a Lounge area). I'd been half expecting that my new eyewear purchase would be in later today however having the previous day identified in a confirmation email that my postcode was not used and an entirely different unknown postcode(not known to me and not belonging to me) which, as I pointed was not the post code currently registered against my name on my account/profile page. So I had grounds to point this out. This morning an email had arrived informing me that it looked like indeed that erroneous post code was used in dispatch(I'd been also informed that it had been dispatched). I sent a follow up email which I stated that if it should be returned to them, would they please key me know so we could arrange a re-delivery. If it did not arrive in the next 2 days, I'd contact them - else thy should assume I've received it somehow.

By that time it was lunch and I headed out to read me new paperback fiction. I got back I to the office after the read and a bite to eat to find that it had arrived, as scheduled, on time,in immaculate condition, fully boxed, packed - the whole lot. I'd just sent that email. I felt like a right pilik. So what must have been 3 minutes later was me writing back saying I got it.(but rather gently reminding them that they should investigate the postcode flaw - I felt I needed some credibility, even though to be honest I was entirely reasonable this whole time).

Anyway, got my eyewear for around £35 and they were everything I ever wanted in eyewear - came with 3 lenses. I was confused my the yellow one which I later learned was for low visibility conditions. I figured, right - I'd use those during my run tonight. After enjoying adjusting the frame, swapping out lenses I took my prize home with me. I fell asleep on the train while trying to read the book I got today. Got to my station stop and casually but sleepily(waking up) heading towards the exit and aim for home. I swiped to get past the barriers and perhaps because I was tired, I didn't put my oyster card back in my wallet, I just walked with it in my hand until I reached the top of the staircase leading towards my flat where I promptly tried to used it to swipe my way into my apartment by raising it towards the keyhole. After suddenly realising my lapse of judgement I got hold if my keys and re-attempted to gain access to my flat. That worked.

I just wanted to use my new orange tinted lenses to go running but it was still far to light to qualify going out with these new night vision enhancing lenses. I waited. finally it got sufficiently dark enough that 1) people couldn't see what an arse I was running around with glasses on at night and 2) I may need to use the glasses to sees trying at all.
Then for some unknown reason I decided to go running with my new Nike Dri-Fit jacket that I got this weekend. it wasn't cold or raining. I wore it anyway, it was new!

I started the run and almost immediately something was wrong. I left my heart rate monitor strap in the flat. not to worry I had my tinted glasses to keep me satisfied however part way into my run I could sense not knowing my heart rate would be a problem. It was. I ran faster than I should, wasn't consistant and about 3km I was over-heating because I was wearing that blasted running top which, in hind sight kept me warm, too warm - why I brought it is stills mystery to me. Everything was off.

I stopped twice, had to take the jacket off and feel the cooling happen instantly. the first time I stopped I was so hot, the tinted glasses were all fogged up and I could hardly see a damn thing - night or day. Not only that in my panic to stop running, take my now yellow-orange tinted blind fold and breath I momentarily started moving towards a shady spot on the side walk which was only shady because the street lights couldn't penetrate the leaves above the shady spot. Then I realised. just because it's shady doesn't mean it's cool me down, it was night and the street light were the only light available. I then corrected myself, as I did when attempting to swipe my into my apartment. I learnt 4 valuable lessons today:

1) you can't use your oyster swipe travel card to enter your apartment
2) don't run with warm clothing if it's warm already
3) Running with yellow-tinted sunglasses doesn't work because your sweat fogs it up
4) shady spots at night, under street lamps will not cool you down.

I think I'll eat my sushi for dinner...carefully.
