Woa, I've been really sick lately. The only other time I felt this sick was when I ate a whole box of Lindor Dark chocolate balls - I was clung onto my toilet seat with great respect and awareness that night. Kind of the same thing happened to me this weekend however the cause I think was due to me stupidly going for a 10km run without properly hydrating before or after - after which I just had a protein drink and a bowl of veggies. Anyway, this was Saturday, seemed fine afterwards, didn't even feel that different afterwards, I'd done 10pm runs before with any problems. I woke up on Sunday with the mother of headaches - registered 39.3 degrees and felt like my head was going to rip through my skull. Pretty uncomfortable. I had this sorta low to medium nausea sensation in my stomach which I ignored, still had the headache and fever. Couldn't actually do anything but wait and hope for it to pass. After a bit I started thinking that maybe it was the chocolate protein shake that didn't sick so well and was causing the nausea but also apparently after heavy exercise you generate toxins which if not removed are poisonous. That might have happened. I eventually got pretty worried so I had a cold bath to bring me temperature down(because my headache was pretty bad/hot). Spent 20 odd minutes in the tub, felt a lot better. Amazing what lowering ones temperature can do for you. That said, it was short lived and the debilitating headache came back which was quite disheartening as I didn't was that same pain again. But nevertheless it came back, thick and full and at times I wondered, perhaps dramatically what would happen if I passed out - who would know? The nausea was starting to really bother me and I decided to get whatever was in my stomach out - much like my episode with the Lindor balls. I think there is a distinctly instinctive reaction and not wanting to cause yourself to throw-up but in my experience, no matter how terrible it feels, always relieves nausea. So I induced vommiting and I resolved the nausea. My temperature has gone down considerably, it's at 37.7 but the headache is still here, bit better but still always around. I've not taken any pain tablets because I read that ibuprofen can cause stomach problems and to be honest that was the last thing I was after. Could not sleep, not really because I was feeling too cold and too hot and really the headache was a constant reminder how sick I was. Around 3am this morning I started feeling better, but a minuscule amount but that was soothing enough!

I almost decided that I'd recovered enough to head into work, which I later decided may not be a great idea. I'm glad I stayed at home because I'm still fighting this headache which is much better than it was. One thing that hasn't changed is how much my muscles ache.

Slept for a bit this afternoon while the tour de France commentators were droning in the background. I still really couldn't do much but watch the works through my eyes and jlnot really concentrate on what I see.

One thing I did end up doing around evening time was rekindle my obsession with rugged, tough looking, can-do-anything outdoor watches. I've found and become rather in awe of the Seiko Pathfinder PAW1500-7ver which, man! is the most awesomest watch I've seen. Its got a Titanium strap so it says I'm sophisticated but I will rip you head off. I want one.

anyway, I can write this post an get through it so I'm getting better, if only I could get rid of this blasted headache...
